Practice Philosophy

The team at the Suncoast Lung Center includes our Medical Assistant Lori, administrative office coordinator Rhonda, financial counselor Tina, and Pulmonary Function technician Linda.  All of your insurance and billing questions are handled onsite with personal help navigating the insurance maze.  When you come to the office, you are evaluated by Dr. Diener at every visit -your care team does not include Physician extenders.  New patient appointments average 45 minutes and follow-up visits are scheduled for 30 minutes. Emergency visits for established patients are usually available within 24 to 48 hours.  We respect your schedule, and every effort is made to keep timely appointments.  Telephone calls are returned promptly, often within the hour and we interface with DME services, insurance companies, and pharmacies to facilitate treatment plans.

We believe that patient education is paramount and that understanding the disease process is an integral part of the healing process.  Patients are encouraged to discuss questions with Dr. Diener and maintain active participation in the development of their care plan.  Self-management skills, preventive care, and open discussions including end-of-life issues are prioritized.

Parking and wheelchair ramps in front of the office provide easy access for those with respiratory difficulties.  For potential new patients we offer a complimentary “get acquainted” meeting with Dr. Diener and staff.  This visit allows you the opportunity to ask questions and make sure you feel comfortable with those participating in your medical care.

We look forward to meeting you.  Our goal is to provide excellent Pulmonary Medicine services delivered with compassion, efficiency, and a bit of “old school” comfort that is often difficult to find in todays’ changing medical climate.
