Dr. Howard Diener, MD, FCCP
Dr. Diener is originally from the Washington, D.C. area. He attended the George Washington University undergraduate program, majoring in Biology and English Literature. He continued his education at the George Washington University School of Medicine receiving his MD degree in 1980.
He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and and specialty fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
He relocated to Sarasota Florida in 1987 and founded the Suncoast Lung Center to provide comprehensive Pulmonary and Critical Care services to the residents of Sarasota and surrounding communities.
Dr. Diener maintains certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a Fellow of the Society of Critical Care Physicians, and a member of the American College of Physicians. He is the past President of the Pulmonary Council at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
